Artificial Intelligence

Overview
  • 60h Duration

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a technology that enables computers to simulate human intelligence, allowing machines to perform tasks such as learning, problem-solving, decision-making, and understanding language. It works by using algorithms and vast amounts of data to allow systems to learn from experience, recognize patterns, and act autonomously to achieve goals.

How AI works
  • Learning and pattern recognition:
AI systems are trained on data to identify patterns, a process that allows them to learn and improve over time without being explicitly programmed for every task.

  • Simulating human abilities:
The goal is to replicate human cognitive functions, giving machines the ability to see (computer vision), understand and respond to language (natural language processing), reason, and plan.

  • Autonomous action:
Equipped with this learning and reasoning capability, AI can perform tasks ranging from highly complex to routine. This can include anything from driving vehicles to analyzing medical images or managing stock in retail.

Applications of AI
  • Everyday life:
AI powers virtual assistants like Google Assistant and Siri, recommendation systems on streaming services, and spam filters in your email.

  • Business and industry:
It's used in finance for fraud detection, in healthcare for medical diagnostics, and in transportation for autonomous vehicles.

  • Creative and analytical tasks:
AI can generate creative content, analyze massive datasets to provide actionable insights, and automate customer service with chatbots.
