Sass, which stands for Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets, is a preprocessor scripting language that is compiled into Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). It extends the capabilities of standard CSS by introducing features commonly found in programming languages, enhancing the efficiency and organization of stylesheet development.
Key characteristics and features of Sass include:
  • CSS Compatibility:
    Sass is fully compatible with all versions of CSS, meaning any valid CSS is also valid Sass.
  • Variables:
    It allows the definition of variables to store reusable values like colors, font sizes, or spacing, promoting consistency and easier maintenance.
  • Nesting:
    CSS rules can be nested within each other, mirroring the structure of HTML, which improves readability and reduces repetitive code.
  • Mixins:
    Reusable blocks of CSS declarations can be defined as mixins and then included in multiple places, avoiding code duplication.
  • Functions:
    Sass includes built-in functions for tasks like color manipulation, mathematical calculations, and string operations, adding dynamic capabilities to stylesheets.
  • Partials and Imports:
